Version History

Track changes and restore previous versions of your website.

The History panel in your Workspace tracks every change made to your site, allowing you to view and restore previous versions.

Accessing History

  1. Open your project in the AI Editor
  2. Go to Workspace → History

Understanding Your History

Commit Timeline

Your history shows a chronological list of all changes:

  • Most recent changes appear at the top
  • Up to 50 commits are displayed
  • Timestamps show when each change was made

Change Types

Each entry shows who made the change:

BadgeDescription
AIChanges made by the AI assistant
EditorContent updates made in the CMS or editor
No badgeManual commits or other changes

Current Version

The latest version is marked with a green "Current" badge, indicating what's currently live on your site.

Restoring Previous Versions

If you need to undo changes or go back to an earlier version:

  1. Find the version you want to restore in the history list
  2. Click the Restore button next to that version
  3. Review the confirmation dialog
  4. Click Confirm to restore

What Happens When You Restore

  • Your site reverts to the selected version
  • A new entry is added to your history (so you can undo the restore if needed)
  • Your published site is updated automatically

Safety Features

  • Confirmation required - You'll always be asked to confirm before restoring
  • Non-destructive - Restoring creates a new commit, so your history is preserved
  • Reversible - You can restore again to go back to any version

Best Practices

  • Review before publishing - Check your changes in preview before publishing
  • Use descriptive prompts - When asking the AI to make changes, be specific so history entries are meaningful
  • Restore early - If something goes wrong, restore sooner rather than making more changes on top
